Seeing is indeed believing.  Apple unveiled tvOS 12 for Apple TV at its WWDC 2018 keynote. The biggest announcement for this particular operating system was the support for Dolby Atmos. This mean users get unparalleled high quality sound with 4K footage.

This is good news as Apple TV is the only streaming box that supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. All this combined with the strength of iTunes, you get the biggest library of digital movies in the world that work with both technologies. During the keynote we heard Tim Cook mention that the business of Apple TV has grown by 50% and the new Dolby support is actually a strong step from Apple that may lead to an even bigger market share in the coming days.

In order to get the full audio effect, you would need a Dolby Atmos supported soundbar.

Content Partnerships

Apple TV users may notice business collaborations with companies, such as DirectTV, Charter Salt, and CANAL+. With these partnerships, viewers will be able to get live channels and on-demand content. This means users can enjoy live news and sports on Apple TV.

However, the Cupertino computing giant has more! With “Zero Sign-on”,  your won’t have to bother with passwords as the set-top box will be able to detect and log into the connected apps with your cable provider.

Aerial Screen Savers

Apart from all these developments, Apple TV 4K and tvOS 12 will include aerial screensavers from around the world and beyond. Based on actual footage recorded by astronauts aboard the International Space Station, the set-up box will show how the planet looks like from the space.

Designed to go with the biggest screen in the house, these screensavers surely have a feel of inspiration and awe that is beyond just computer generated images.

People already using Apple TV and TV 4K can expect the free upgrade to tvOS via iTunes in fall this year.
