From yoga related apps to free workouts that are only a few minutes long, there is probably an app for that and we are here to list down our favorites for the year 2017.

These are the iOS app that we have personally tried, tested and researched so you can pair your iPhone with the right app for your needs and have a companion that empowers you to live your best and healthiest life.

Runtastic Running & Fitness (Free)

By runtastic

Versatile, effective and elegantly designed, the Runtastic app is perfect for people who lead an active lifestyle. The app comes with a built-in fitness activities tracker including distance, average speed, speed between mile markers, duration, calories burned, elevation, pace, pace between mile markers and route using GPS. The most noteworthy thing about the app is that it caters to a variety of different activities including running, biking, snowboarding, kayaking and more, so do not be fooled by the running centric name, this app is versatile and extremely useful due to the information it is able to track and provide including weather, sunrise/sunset timings, current temperature and more.

We highly recommend the paid version of this app because it adds a lot of features to the already feature-rich app. The user interface of the app is elegantly designed and you will not have to dedicate a lot of time to get this app up and running. And have we mentioned the built-in audio coach that is designed to help and guide you through the challenging parts of your workout, all this and more is combined with this one app.

Yoga Studio (Free)

By Gaiam, Inc.

A yoga studio in your iPhone or iPad, the Yoga Studio app by By Gaiam, Inc. offers beginner, intermediate and advanced yoga classes and guided meditation courses. We believe it is great for people who enjoy slow-paced exercise that is good for the mind and the body but does not have the time to join yoga classes. The yoga studio app is also great for people who are just starting out their fitness journey and are exploring different activities. The app is beautifully designed and easy to use, with the app you will be able to play, create, customize and schedule easy-to-follow HD video yoga classes. You can choose the length of your classes and your goals for yoga including for strength, flexibility, relaxation, balance, back pain and running or a combination of all. The videos are of high quality, well made and contain clear instructions.

The app also had paid versions that we believe are well worth the money because it allows you to get a lot more from the app, while still being a lot cheaper than yoga classes. With this app, you will be able to take your yoga studio with you even when you travel.

When you first set up the app, the app will ask you about your current fitness level, choose wisely because that will give your workouts according to your needs. By MyFitnessPal.com (Free)

By MyFitnessPal.com

With one of the most extensive databases of more than 5 million foods, My Fitness Pall is our top favorite if you are looking for a calorie counter and diet tracker. Weight loss and staying fit is mostly about what you eat and less about how much you work out, therefore an easy to use, effective diet tracker is an essential tool to have on your iPhone or iPad if your fitness goal is to lose weight for getting abs. The app also comes equipped with a step tracker and a barcode scanner.

Pokemon GO

By Niantic, Inc.

Yes, we went there! We believe that Pokemon GO needs to be mentioned as one of the best fitness apps due to its entertaining gameplay that encourages thousands, if not millions of people to get up and walk around their city hunting and capturing Pokemon. A fun way of staying active and improving fitness may not have been the main purpose of this app, but the app made news for this particular reason (and a lot more). We think that this app is great for anyone who likes to stay entertained while they work out and want a different sort of challenge to get up and walk. There are hundreds of Pokemon to capture so you will be motivated for a long time, just stay safe and do not get into too much trouble with this one.

We encourage you to try one or all of these apps to find an activity and an app to help you stay healthy and fit. Good luck!
