The Amazon Prime Day begins at noon on July 16 and will continue for the next 36 hours. That’s 6 hours more than last year’s edition.¬†With a promise of more than a million deals worldwide, this mid-summer sale is exclusively for the subscribers of Amazon Prime, the company’s shopper loyalty program that provides exclusive discounts and free shipping.

If you want to learn about the best discounts during the Prime Day sales, then check out our dedicated mini-site where you will see the best deals as soon as they go live on Amazon.

Shoppers in Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, and Luxembourg will experience the online shopping gala for the first time. The Prime Day deals will be also available for buyers in US, Canada, UK, India, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, and China.

Will it work?

This sale events comes after Amazon’s increase in the annual Prime membership fees from $99 to $119. Even though the increment looks significant, the company aims to stabilize it by providing deep discounts on its branded products.

Last year, Amazon claimed that it received more sign-ups than any day in the company’s history. However, the actual numbers were never reported.

The question now arises: Will it be able to do it again, this year? It seems possible, since the internet retailer has included its Whole Foods brick-and-mortar stores in the mix. Then, there are Alexa-focused third-party product launches.

The company is hopeful too. As reported by CNET, Jamil Ghani, vice president of Prime International, expects “very healthy growth in Prime membership.”

What will be on offer?

In some cases, Amazon has already started slashing prices. Amazon Prime users will now get 10% discount when they shop at any Whole Food Markets in the US. Audible, Prime Video, and Twitch Prime are also providing exclusive deals. However, there is little information what may happen on the actual date.

While users may not get cheap Apple devices, they can grab many third-party accessories, including wireless charges, cases for iPhones and iPads, wireless headphones, and other essentials, at amazing prices.
