The 97th annual ADC Awards, which honors the best of design, advertising, motion, and other commercial creative arts, saw Apple’s “Barbers” ad for iPhone 7 Plus win the “Best of Show award”
The ad was introduced in May 2017 and featured a barbershop where quality of the portraits taken by an iPhone 7 Plus drive the sales of the shop.
“Barbers” was a part of a campaign that consisted of many ads showing off the portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus. The portrait mode uses two camera lenses to create a DSLR-like depth effect to make the shots pop up with a blurred background.
This feature is currently a part of iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
“Barbers” has already bagged 2018 Motion and Film Craft Gold Cube, a Black Cube for Best of Show, and a 2018 Advertising Merit Award.
