Apple’s higher education website is currently showing a “Back Soon” message. The webpage currently displays the following text: ‘We’ll be back. We’re busy updating the Apple Store for you. Please check back soon.

This points out at a possibility of Apple getting the store ready for Back to School deal.

Under this promotion, the tech giant provides a freebie on purchase of one of its products. The Back to School deal is marketed towards students enrolled in college, as well as parents, teachers, and faculty. The store would ask for verification at the time of checkout to check eligibility.

Last year, students who bought a Mac or iPad Pro were offered to pick either a free pair of Beats Solo3, Powerbeats3, or Beats X headphones. This year, it is speculated that the tech giant may dish out AirPods.

The Back to School deal comes at a time when Amazon is readying its website for Prime Day, a 36-hour promotional event with deep discounts for Amazon Prime subscribers.
