Online storage is quite an itch for iOS since Apple only provides 5GB for free to its users. However, things are changing it seems.
The company now offers a free trial period of one month if a user chooses to upgrade from the free 5GB plan.
However, there’s a small condition.
The free trial option appears when a user is unable to back up their device due to full storage. At this time, the device informs the users to upgrade to the 50GB iCloud plan.
“You do not have enough space in iCloud to back up your iPhone. A 50 GB plan gives you plenty of space to continue backing up your iPhone. Your first month is free and it’s just $0.99 each month after.”
This seems like a great offer; however, there is more. According to AppleInsider, the free trial offer also works for the larger iCloud storage plans of 200GB and 2TB.
Once the free trial is over, the plan gets renewed at the usual rate, $0.99 per month for 50GB. Similarly, the users will be charged $2.99 and $9.99 per month for 200GB and 2TB iCloud plans respectively.
Unfortunately, current paid iCloud storage users are not eligible for this free trial offer.
Lately, Apple has been trying to dish out more storage to its users. Back in March, the company increased the amount of free storage for students to 200GB.
