Apple has finally released the much-awaited iOS 11.3 update for their users, but it’s comes with an unusual twist: the update is only available for the brand new sixth-generation iPad.The new iPad that was announced two days ago at Apple’s Education Event in Chicago.
If you’ve bought the new iPad, you can download the latest iOS release over the air. To download, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
The new iPad went on sale on 28th, but orders won’t be delivered until later this week, and the device has still not appeared in the Stores.
iOS 11.3 introduces lots of new features, such as Messages on iCloud for storing iMessages in iCloud to save storage space on your device. You can also use the Business Chat for contacting businesses using iMessage.
Other new features this update include the ARKit 1.5, that gives developers more room to play with AR apps. It also includes a ‘Battery Health’ feature to let the users know with more information about their battery lives.
It’s not clear yet, why Apple has only released iOS 11.3 for the new iPad only and not for all other devices. But you can still expect the update to roll out for your iPhone and iPad later this week.
