According to well-informed Apple analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release a new iPad towards the end of 2018. The iPhone X brought an all-new design language to the iPhone product line and word has it that the new iPad may take clues from its futuristic design.

The report revealed the decision to expand Apple’s chip-making division and it also states that Apple will release updated MacBooks and a new iMac in 2018.

While it is not confirmed that the resulting iPad would be called the iPad X, the design will surely stir some feathers in the tablet market. The new iPad X is supposed to run on an Apple-designed graphics engine and probably have a dedicated AI chip.

The rumor was first heard in October 2017 about the forthcoming iPad from KGI securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst within Apple’s supply chain.

Kuo stated that the new iPad will introduce a change in design by bringing Face ID, which is an advanced 3D face-recognition technology initially launched on the iPhone X. It is also possible that the new iPad could have even thinner bezels and a more aesthetically attractive design.

We can expect to see the new iPad in June 2018 but the date has not yet been announced for this year’s WWDC. That also means the new devices won’t be on the shelves until August or September, even if Apple announces the iPad X at WWDC.
