Yesterday, Apple announced that it sold 77.3 millions iPhones during first financial quarter of 2018 (last calendar quarter of 2017). This makes the iPhone the best selling smartphone of Q1 2018.

Apple defeated the competition through the average selling price of the iPhone in this quarter which came in at $796.

Apple came on top of the list and defeated all it’s competitors in Q4, but the overall shipments were down  from 78.3 million in the year-ago quarter. While Apple came on top during the quarter, Samsung was overall the top vendor.

Overall, worldwide cell phone shipments declined year over year, tumbling from 438.7 million units in the final quarter of 2016 to 400.2 million in the final quarter of 2017. As indicated by Strategy Analytics, it was “the biggest yearly fall in cell phone history.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone X has been the best selling iPhone consistently since it arrived in December. Cook additionally said that the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus lineup got the highest income of any lineup in the organization’s history.
