KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo today shared a trio of new researches and notes that outline both new and existing predictions about the new iPhones expected later this year.

Apple will introduce three new iPhones this year, including two OLED models at 5.8-inches and 6.5-inches and an LCD model at 6.1-inches.

What’s expected from the 6.1-inches LCD iPhone?

Kuo predicts a 2,850 to 2,950 mAh battery in a rectangular shape for the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone. This is the larger than the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus batteries. As for dimensions, the same rectangular and single cell design will be utilized, which doesn’t necessarily bode well for the thickness and weight.

As for the investor reaction to the 2018 iPhones lineup, Kuo says, the sentiment is conservative due to concerns about the lack of major spec upgrades, while on the other hand, the market will appreciate the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, which he says will account for around 50 percent of the new models sold in the second half of this year. The 6.1-inches LCD model will attract more customers due to the iPhone X’s steep price. This iPhone is expected to feature the same notch design as the iPhone X, as well as Face ID.

Kuo has previously predicted the three iPhones models for 2018, and said that the 6.1-inch model will be priced between $700 and $800.
