Time to catch ’em all! After making waves on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Quest is finally available on the App Store. The game is met with fanfare as it is progressing towards ruling all the top charts across the world.
The game builds up on the role-playing roots of Pokémon, however it strays from animation traditions. The pokémons are cute, but they are made of cubes. They live in an insanely cute world called Tumblecube Island.
You start the game as a trainer who ‘befriends’ a pokémon for the quest. Since you are playing on an island, your primary aim is to search for hidden treasures. Of course, there will be other pokémons on the island, so you might have to fight them for the loot.
However, your pokémon needs friends to survive the cubed wilderness. In order to attract more pokémons to your camp, you would have to create foods to lure them. This might be the only way you can make Pikachu your buddy.
Featuring characters from the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue series, the app is free-to-play and encourages players to buy in-game items in order to unlock features quicker.
“Players will be able to personalize their Pokemon and develop a strong bond with their Pokemon friends while battling their way through the adventure,” expressed Shigeru Ohmori, director at developer GAME FREAK for the initial release.
“With the simple touch-screen controls, Pokemon Quest is a game that Pokemon fans of all ages can pick up and play.”
So, head to the App Store and download it now.
